15.30 Delegates will have the opportunity to participate in a leisure activity, either:
Outdoor activities: Hovercrafts and archery
One Cyclone sport hovercraft gives guests a rare opportunity to fly inches off
the ground around a twisting grass circuit. Steering these bizarre machines
requires a delicate touch on the controls as demonstrated by the experienced
instructors during the practice session. You must negotiate the figure of eight
course before parking their machines in a garage to stop the clock.
You will also be shooting arrows from traditional and compound longbows at 25 metres, at static and exploding targets, before firing bolts from crossbows with open and telescopic sights.
Indoor activity: Bob Ross oil painting session
Paul Bryant will provide expert tuition on the Bob Ross Oil Painting
Technique as seen on his Sky TV programme. The Bob Ross method utilises a
wet-on-wet oil painting technique, in which the painter continues adding paint
on top of still wet paint rather than waiting a lengthy amount of time to allow
each layer of paint to dry.
Combining this method with the use of two inch and other types of brushes as well as painting knives, it is possible to paint trees, water, clouds and mountains in a matter of seconds. Starting with simple strokes that appear to be nothing more than coloured smudges, you will be taught how to add more and more strokes until the blotches are transformed into intricate landscapes. In this short session you will create a finished painting that will be yours to keep after the event.
